Events
Throughout the year, the Institute for Critical Technology and Applied Science hosts events, including but not limited to symposiums that allow students to share their work with the Virginia Tech community, guest lectures, and award presentations.
Below is a list of upcoming events, including where to register if applicable.

Clay H. Gabler Lecture Series,
TBD
The Clay H. Gabler lecture series honors Clay H. Gabler, who was a Samuel Herrick professor in Virginia Tech's department of biomedical engineering and mechanics.
The institute hosts one lecture each year, inviting a guest speaker who previously worked with Gabler to discuss current biomedical engineering and mechanics research. Scholarship awards in Gabler's honor are also presented and there will be a post-lecture reception.
Community members can attend in-person or via Zoom. No registration is required.

Doctoral Scholar Symposium,
TBD
The symposium is an annual event that showcases research from the institute’s doctoral scholars, with the scholars present throughout the session to answer questions about their work. No registration is required.

Kelly Lecture Series, TBD
A generous fund from the Hugh and Ethel Kelly Gift allowed the Institute for Critical Technology and Applied Science and the College of Engineering to establish the Kelly Lecture series, a distinguished speaker series that typically occurs annually. The series honors the Kellys' love for Virginia Tech by providing an opportunity for students, faculty, and the community to interact with visionary leaders. The lectures are a dynamic forum for new knowledge and a catalyst for future research.
