The ICTAS Annual Scholarship is a one-time scholarship awarded to undergraduate or graduate students. The scholarship will be administered by the Director of the Institute for Critical Technology and Applied Science.
Clay Gabler Undergraduate Student Scholarship

Funded by the Clay Gabler Undergraduate Endowment, the Clay Gabler Undergraduate Student Scholarship is a one-time scholarship awarded to undergraduate students who demonstrate an interest in pursuing studies or research in the fields of transportation and crash safety, injury biomechanics, vehicle crashworthiness, automated vehicles, and aeronautical safety.
Clay Gabler Graduate Student Scholarship

Funded by Virginia Tech, the Clay Gabler Graduate Student Scholarship is a one-time scholarship awarded to graduate students who are pursuing studies and/or research in the fields of transportation and crash safety, injury biomechanics, vehicle crashworthiness, automated vehicles, and aeronautical safety.
Clay Gabler Center for Injury Biomechanics Enrichment Fund

Funded by Virginia Tech, the Clay Gabler Center for Injury Biomechanics Enrichment Fund provides program support for experiential learning activities and student research projects. Use of funds may include providing for travel costs associated with coursework, research or attending scientific meetings.
Instructions and information for each submission:
- Application should include a letter, no more than one page, outlining the research area of the individual and any other relevant information. The letter should be signed by the applicant and the faculty advisor, and the applicant's resume should clearly indicate their GPA.
- These documents should be combined and submitted as one single pdf file.
Award(s) will be announced at the Clay Gabler Lecture.

This scholarship will be split between one student interested in transmission electron microscopy and one student interested in scanning electron microscopy. Preference will be given to Ph.D. or DVM students within Vet Med. In the event there are no eligible candidates within Vet Med, it can be awarded to Ph.D students who have these interests but are within other college units at Virginia Tech.

The scholarship funds will be applied to the student account (Hokie Spa) for the 2025-2026 academic year. The award is $4,750 per recipient. Scholarships are split between the fall and spring semesters (50/50). *If an applicant is planning to graduate at the end of the fall 2025 semester, please make note of this on the application so the scholarship can be appropriately awarded if the applicant is a successful recipient.
